Vietnam has all important elements to become a Digital Hub

With the theme of "Global Partnership for the Sustainable Digital Future", Vietnam International Digital Week runs from 11 to 14 October 2022. The program is held by Ministry of Information and Communications. Vietnam International Digital Week 2022 is attended by leaders and representatives of ministries, specialized management agencies of ASEAN countries and dialogue countries, international organizations, associations and digital enterprises around the globe.

 In his opening speech, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said that the migration from the real world to the digital world is the greatest and also the most challenging journey of humanity. Therefore, digital transformation will be at the core of the International Digital Week 2022, which is held for the first time in Hanoi, Vietnam.

 Attending the program, Mr. Le Anh Vu, Chief Creative Officer of CMC Telecom, with his 17 years of experience in ITC, proposed solutions to the development of digital government, digital economy and digital society. At the same time, Mr. Vu also pointed out the opportunity for Vietnam to become a Digital Hub of Asia-Pacific region and the world - where data are transferred, connected, stored and processed.

 “Vietnam has all important elements to become the next Digital Hub of the region, from natural conditions including favorable geographical location to available infrastructure with large-scale undersea cable routes and landing stations, neutral-network data centers, rapid development of cloud computing, resources with high-tech ecosystem, open and consistent policies, etc. Also, Vietnam possesses a huge and valuable digital source, which is a young population with passion for mathematics and high level of programming. With appropriate investment  and training, this will become Vietnam's outstanding strength compared to other countries in the world." – Mr. Le Anh Vu emphasized.

 In the Asia-Pacific region, there are 2 major Digital Hubs, namely Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as many Internet Hubs, notably Japan with 23 undersea cable routes, which is the station for Internet connection between the region and the world.

 "A Digital Hub not only has Internet connections but also comes with an ecosystem of telecommunication infrastructure, digital infrastructure, technology, human resources, etc.", said Mr. Vu.

When becoming a Digital Hub, Vietnam will be the place to transfer, connect, store and process data of Asia- Pacific region and the world, not only creating opportunities and allowing great development for domestic enterprises, but also accommodating strong investment in capital, infrastructure, people, knowledge etc. of the world, which are all concentrated in Vietnam.

Vietnam International Digital Week 2022 will be an opportunity for Vietnamese agencies, organizations and technology enterprises to focus on promoting and expanding digital partnerships, exchanging experiences with priority objectives such as improving institutions and regulatory environment, developing digital technology industry and digital infrastructure, building safe and reliable cyberspace, and improving digital skills for people.

The opening session of Vietnam International Digital Week - VIDW 2022

 Ministry of Information and Communications said that this event is one of its activities to further promote national digital transformation. 2022 is the first year Vietnam celebrates National Digital Transformation Day.

 VIDW2022 is an occasion for digital technology organizations, individuals and enterprises in Vietnam, ASEAN countries and direct dialogue countries to connect, exchange information, explore opportunities for cooperation, trade promotion, investment and market development.
