Visiting the data center, exploring CMC’s digital infrastructure
Right after the welcome session, the Airbus delegation was introduced to and took a tour of the data center at CMC Tower – one of the “hubs” in the data center ecosystem that CMC is operating in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This ecosystem includes data centers at CMC Tower, CMC Creative Space Tan Thuan, CMC Data Center in Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP), and the ongoing projects CMC Creative Space Tay Ho Tay, Hoa Lac and SHTP 2, with a total designed capacity of tens of MW, targeting international standards for safety, information security and operations.
Mr. Dang Tung Son, Senior Vice President/Vice Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of CMC Corporation, said that digital infrastructure is the foundation for Cloud, AI-as-a-Service offerings and the CMC OpenAI ecosystem, serving the digital transformation and AI transformation (AI-X) needs of enterprises in Vietnam and worldwide.

Airbus explores Vietnam’s technology and talent market
During the discussion, Airbus representatives shared that the Group is currently surveying Vietnam’s digital technology market, with particular interest in the capacity to supply teams of IT engineers and experts, as well as partners capable of delivering large-scale digital transformation programs.
Airbus is one of the world’s leading aerospace groups, operating in commercial aircraft, helicopters, defence and space, and pursuing the goal of “pioneering sustainable aerospace” through solutions to reduce fuel consumption, cut emissions and invest in new technologies. The Group owns NAVBLUE – a company providing flight-operations solutions that optimize routing, fuel consumption, scheduling, etc. to support safety, efficiency and sustainable development.
In Vietnam, Airbus is one of the earliest-established European enterprises, starting with cooperation in helicopter services for the oil and gas sector in the early years of the country’s economic opening. Today, the company supplies aircraft to Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines, Sun PhuQuoc Airways… and also brings digital flight-operations solutions to the market via NAVBLUE.
Mr. Philippe Pezet noted: “Vietnam is emerging as a highly promising technology hub with a young, capable and ambitious IT workforce. Airbus is very interested in finding partners who can provide and manage large-scale technology teams, while co-developing digital and AI solutions to support operations and sustainable growth. CMC is one of the partners that brings together many fitting attributes that we would like to explore further.”

Opportunities for cooperation in technology talent between Airbus and CMC
One highlight of the visit was the discussion around IT talent in Vietnam. The fact that the head of the Airbus delegation is the Group’s global HR leader reflects Airbus’ particular interest in attracting, developing and managing high-quality IT human resources in Vietnam and the region.
Mr. Dang Van Tu, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of CMC Corporation, shared CMC’s many years of experience in supplying and managing IT talent for global partners, especially through the Global Delivery Center (GDC) model. The Group regularly deploys and operates large-scale programs of 100–200 engineers, and can quickly scale up to 1,000 staff when required by projects. CMC adopts a multi-tiered workforce strategy, combining multiple layers of talent: a core team of highly experienced staff, project-based experts, and a network of young professionals trained according to CMC’s own standards.
He also said that during the working session, CMC presented several AI-powered HR management solutions, such as systems that recommend and “match” suitable candidates, data analytics to predict attrition risks and propose retention policies, and digital assistants that support HR departments in policy design and performance management. Airbus appreciated this approach in the context of the Group’s comprehensive digital transformation strategy for global workforce management.

From airline digital transformation experience to AI-X cooperation
In its corporate overview, CMC emphasized its position as one of Vietnam’s leading technology groups, with four business pillars: Technology & Solutions, Digital Infrastructure, Global Business, and Research & Education. On the basis of its AI Transformation (AI-X) strategy, CMC aims to help enterprises apply AI comprehensively in operations, from internal processes to customer-facing services, while contributing to digital economy development and green growth.
CMC also highlighted its experience in digital transformation for the aviation sector: implementing the AMOS MRO system for VAECO – the maintenance unit of Vietnam Airlines; building the ticketing platform for Vietjet; and partnering to optimize operations, digitize data and modernize systems for a 5-star airline in Singapore. These are considered important reference projects as Airbus explores cooperation models related to operations, maintenance, fleet optimization and passenger experience.
Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, DCSMO of CMC Global, said the two sides spent substantial time discussing the potential of using AI and data analytics in HR management, flight operations, schedule, fuel and maintenance optimization, based on the combination of Airbus’ industry experience, CMC’s digital infrastructure and AI capabilities, and NAVBLUE’s operational solutions.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Board of Directors/Executive Chairman of CMC Corporation, emphasized: “We see this visit by Airbus as an important starting point to connect a leading global aerospace group with a Vietnamese technology enterprise pursuing AI-X and Go Global strategies. With our data center ecosystem, Cloud/AI platforms and experienced engineering teams, CMC is ready to accompany Airbus in digital transformation programs from Vietnam to the region and the world.”
Long-term cooperation potential
At the end of the working session, representatives of Airbus and CMC agreed to continue exploring concrete cooperation opportunities, focusing on several key areas such as developing technology talent for Airbus’ digitalization programs; collaborating on AI and data solutions for management and operations; and leveraging CMC’s data center ecosystem and Cloud/AI infrastructure.
In the context of Vietnam accelerating its goals for green growth, digital economy development and deeper participation in global value chains, such collaborations are expected not only to create new opportunities for businesses, but also to help elevate the position of Vietnam’s technology sector on the regional map.
