CMC Digital Infrastructure joins hand to prevent phishing in the cyperspace

On 3 April 2023, CMC Cyber Security signed a cooperation agreement with the non-profit Anti-Phishing Project (Anti-Phishing) initiated by the cybersecurity expert Ngo Minh Hieu (Hieu PC), which aims to form an alliance and build a threat hunting community in Vietnam

Accordingly, the anti-phishing data of the project will be integrated into the Threats Intelligence system of CMC Cyber Security to provide a source of data on cyber threats. This gives Threats Intelligence users a full view of the information security situation in the region and the world and at the same time help them to come up with measures to protect their digital assets from malicious and unsecure websites.

After integrating data from Anti-Phishing, CMC Threats Intelligence will act as a database of cyber threats, which is constantly updated and optimized by CMC Cyber Security and Anti-Phishing. Thereby, the user's information security team can enrich their own threat data source and thus proactively and early prevent the latest and complex threats, minimizing the impacts on business operations.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Ha The Phuong - General Director of CMC Cyber Security said: "This is the first cooperation model between CMC's Digital Infrastructure Department and anti-phishing institutions and threat hunters. Through which, we want to call for an alliance and build a threat hunting community in Vietnam, so that businesses with special data or wishing to do hunting services based on such data will have their needs met with international standards and the most reliable information security technology."

The threat report of National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) for the 11th week of 2023 updated at least 646 vulnerabilities, including 227 high-level ones and 252 unassessed ones, as well as 289 reports of phishing cases. Through the inspection and analysis of the Center, there are many cases of bank and e-commerce site scams.

Not only threatening to steal personal information of users, business data of enterprises, especially those in the industries of banking-finance, securities, etc. also become lucrative preys for cybercriminals to steal. Therefore, the vast database of CMC Threats Intelligence and Anti-Phishing promises to help banks prevent risks early and improve efficiency, thereby limit and prevent data fraud and theft of important business information.

Also at the signing ceremony, Mr. Ngo Minh Hieu - founder of the project said: “The cooperation between Anti-Phishing and CMC Cyber Security to share data of phishing will greatly help in enriching data source and minimizing potential cybersecurity risks for Vietnamese users and businesses.”
