CMC and KCG Group promote cooperation in education and training

CMC Corporation (CMC) and KCG Group signed and exchanged a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and ministers at the Vietnam-Japan Economic Forum held on 16 December in Tokyo (Japan). This agreement aims to strengthen the education and training cooperation between the two parties.

As part of his schedule during the Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, on the morning of 16 December, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a delegation to Tokyo to attend the Vietnam-Japan Economic Forum with the theme of "Economic relations in the new era - Comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world". Other members of the delegation include: Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung - Minister of Planning and Investment; Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Minister of Transport; Ms. Dao Hong Lan - Minister of Health; Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh - Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; and leaders of other ministries, agencies and localities of Vietnam. Representing Japanese government at the forum were Mr. Nishimura Yasutoshi - Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI); Mr. Ishiguro Norihiko - Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO); as well as other Japanese leaders and officers.

From KCG Group, there were Mr. Yoichi Terashita - Vice President of the group, President of Kyoto Computer Gakuin and other KCG officers.

Previously, on 15 December 2023 in Kyoto (Japan), the ceremony for signing Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)on training and developing high-quality human resources for Vietnam and Japan markets took place in the presence of Mr. Wataru Hasegawa, President of KCG Group and Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, President of CMC.


Based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 17 November 2022 between Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI), Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) and CMC University, the two presidents agreed to continue promoting and upgrading the cooperation relationship with new contents.


Accordingly, KCG Group and CMC will exchange education models and management experiences, so that CMC can build CMC Education (CMC Edu) into a global educational institution for training and development of high-quality human resources for Vietnam and Japan. In addition, both parties will also send exchange lecturers and students to each other depending on their respective needs, as well as exchange practical experiences of applying information technology to digital society based on Japan’s Society 5.0 model.


In terms of cooperation for human resources, CMC Corporation will prioritize recruiting KCG and KCGI graduates to work for CMC Japan in Japan and Vietnam. Also, CMC Education will exchange and introduce students to attend bachelor's programs at Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) and graduate programs at KCGI. Commenting on the new cooperation agreement between CMC Corporation and KCG Group, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - Chairman of BOD/President of CMC said: "I believe this historic cooperation agreement will bring about many effective implementation programs in education and training between the two parties, thereby contributing to training more high-quality, world-class IT professionals for the country in the future."

Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) was established in 1963 in Kyoto and is the first educational institution for computer training in Japan. In 2004, KCG Group established Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) - the first graduate IT training institution in Japan. From 2005, KCG became the pioneer in deploying an advanced E-learning system in Japan, making E-learning courses richer and more diverse. KCG Group has highly qualified and high-class lecturers, advanced training environment and modern equipment - which further cement its position as one of the leading IT training institutions for the past 60 years.


Mr. Wataru Hasegawa - President of KCG Group also especially emphasized that the signing of MOA will be a milestone marking the cooperation and development between KCG and CMC. "We choose to cooperate with CMC because the corporation is one of the leading ITC enterprises in Vietnam. This memorandum will serve as a premise for both parties to support each other and work towards the common interests of research and teaching activities in the training of high-quality human resources”, said Mr. Wataru Hasegawa.

CMC Education is a member company of CMC Corporation operating in the field of education with CMC University and is entering the stage of developing new training models for the future. In particular, CMC University aims to become the first digital university in Vietnam with 15,000 students by 2030. Currently, it has enrolled 1000 students in 6 majors for the 2nd intake (academic year 2023-2024). In academic year 2024-2025, CMC University will start the training program for electronics - telecommunications engineering towards specializing in IC design to provide human resources meeting international standards to Vietnam's semiconductor industry and the global market.
